General
Using Mercer Data Connector to submit data will reduce the amount of time and effort you spend participating in surveys. View a full list of surveys included in Mercer Data Connector. With Mercer Data Connector’s intuitive online experience, you can upload your company data, review suggested job matches, review guided-alerts with immediate data verification, and keep up-to-date with instant visibility to work-in-process. And participation gets easier year after year with our proprietary machine-learning algorithm.
Mercer Job Library defines the jobs and the job architecture, while Mercer Data Connector is used to collect your company data and gives you increased job match accuracy through online job matching.
Mercer Data Connector, survey questions and web navigation is available in English, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Latin America), and Chinese (Simplified).
You can order survey products at any time by contacting your Mercer consultant and North America products can be ordered online with Mercer Data Connector. Global membership clients, or clients with specific survey contracts, should contact their Mercer consultant.
Participation
You’ll share information about yourself and your company through the Profile Setup wizard — the first step you’ll take in Mercer Data Connector. For clients who participated last year, most of your data will be pre-populated and you just need to review and update, as necessary. Note: information that changes every year is not pre-populated (e.g., base salary, bonus, company revenue, etc.).
When you reach the Employee Data information tile, you’ll be prompted to share your company’s employee data file. You can upload it with a click, or you can drag and drop the file. You’ll also have the option to download a pre-formatted Mercer Excel template and copy your data into that spreadsheet before uploading it; you can even upload your own file! If you participated last year, your data will be pre-populated in the employee data template file. Mercer Data Connector only accepts .xlsx files.
When you fill out the Company Data portion of the system, you’ll tell us about the various companies that make up your organization and the countries they’re located in. Then, you can submit data specific to each company/country. You will be able to easily copy data from one company to another, saving you time.
Yes, you are required to upload data for every country you operate in, as per your agreement with Mercer. One of the great things about Mercer Data Connector is that now you upload all your data in one file.
You can see progress of your submission on your home page which is called "Your Participation Progress". Use the advanced filter options to see your progress by country, company, or overall.
We know changing from Excel-based survey participation to an online process means some changes in how you work and we hope you find the application easy to use! Mercer Data Connector was specifically designed to simplify the process of submitting data and matching jobs; therefore, surveys that are using Mercer Data Connector for participation can only be done online.
A participation deadline is the date by which you must submit your data. To find the participation deadline, look on the Your Participation Progress home page and click View Deadlines at the top right.
Submitting data
You can submit your data at any time by clicking the "Submit Data" located on the top right of the screen. Check the box next to each company (by country) and click the blue "Submit Data" button. You may receive messages that alert you to take some actions; please react accordingly.
Once you submit your data, you can no longer edit it. If you have an urgent need to change your data, please contact your Mercer consultant. Depending on your circumstances, and the timing of the publication deadline, you may be permitted to make changes in the application.
Job matching
After you upload your company’s data file, Mercer Data Connector will automatically match as many jobs as possible to Mercer Job Library. If the application doesn’t find an exact match, it will offer a list of suggested matches. You’ll have the opportunity to review and confirm – and if any job remains unmatched, you can search Mercer Job Library. Using millions of points of data, Mercer Data Connector uses a proprietary algorithm to search and compare your position titles to Mercer Job Library. As we are in the early stages of this award-winning technology, we are learning from clients like you to improve its suggestions. It won’t make a match every time so please ensure you review suggested matches before submitting your data. We are fine-tuning the algorithm daily so let us know if you have any feedback at MercerDataConnector@mercer.com .
Data validation
Mercer Data Connector will automatically review and clean your data – prior to submission – prompting you to validate specific information as necessary. You can review data needing validation and fix it right in the application by dismissing, confirming, using bulk updates, or exporting to work offline. If you do not resolve the validations, the application will automatically correct based on Mercer-defined actions.
Support
The Mercer Guide Center is located on the bottom right via an information icon. Click this icon to open and access Quick Reference Flyers including a Support Contacts guide, “How-to” videos and a list of “What's New”. For technical assistance, use the Contact Us button to send an email to software@mercer.com , Mercer's help desk.
Use the reset password option available on the Mercer Single Sign-On (MSSO) screen.
Client administrators can add other users and delegate access to the entire questionnaire or specific sections of the application. For example, you can delegate one person to complete the Benefits section and another to upload files and match jobs in the Employee Data section. Each additional user will be able to see data and campaigns for their particular company and country.
At the top right of your screen, click the icon that looks like a gear. Here, you can change information about your organization, yourself, and other Mercer Data Connector administrators at your organization.
