Top position responsible for evaluating and reviewing current loss prevention methodologies and efforts. Safeguards company assets from shrinkage through theft or poor paperwork. May also be responsible for physical security of home office building(s) and distribution center(s). May do executive investigations. May have an Auditing department monitoring cash flow documents. Primary emphasis on in-store theft prevention and security (little home office or auditing responsibility). High ranking executive with much influence over procedures and policy. Improves the organization's profit while minimizing their legal exposures. This is typically a single incumbent position and may report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
