Report coverage
This report covers:
Salary differentials for Australian states (NSW, QLD, VIC and WA) and New Zealand cities (Auckland, Christchurch, Other North Island, Other South Island, Waikato and Wellington) by:
- CED job evaluation points
- IPE bands
- Cost-of-living and home rental index fo rmajor Australian and New Zealand cities
- Differences in pay between states for key job families (Australia only)
- Pay differences between the public and private sectors (New Zealand only)
Report methodology
The data used in the report is based on Mercer's all industry database in both Australia and New Zealand.
Calculating the differentials for each region is based on a consistent set of positions, representing 100 positions across a core set of job families. While the organisations in the sample may and should change each year, a core set of positions provides a stable and more reliable sample for relativity analysis.
