On October 19, the Social Security
Administration released the new rules for 2012 that result from automatic
changes that occur annually. The Department of Health and Human Services
released the 2012 Medicare figures on October 27. The most critical figure was
an increase in the cost-of-living adjustment after two years with no increase.
- 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment
- $110,100 maximum earnings on which you pay Social Security taxes
- $14,640 earnings limit for beneficiaries under the full retirement age
- $99.90 Part B standard monthly premium
