Expatriate Compensation Services
Mercer
provides a full range of information products and services to help
you manage your human resources globally. The compensation services
support you in designing competitive, equitable and cost-effective
expatriate packages. The Expatriate Compensation Services are
designed to answer the question: "What should we pay our
executives when transferred from one country to
another?"
The Balance Sheet Calculation
The balance sheet calculation provides the answer by bringing
together all of Mercer's vast information database including
Cost-of-Living, Quality-of-Living, Tax and Compensation Reports
as well as our expertise in international assignments. It
represents a useful and competitive analytical tool to help you
determine your international compensation structures. The
objective is to ensure that expatriation financial conditions
are fair and that the expatriate package encourages mobility.
The Balance Sheet Calculation follows the home country approach
used by major multinational companies. According to a survey
conducted by Mercer in 2001, 70% of the companies use this
approach. It allows you to define in a rapid, easy and
systematic manner your expatriates packages taking into
consideration tax constraints in the home and host country,
cost of living and quality of living differentials, housing
costs and other allowances or benefits if requested, such as
car or education allowance.
